Before diving into individual weapons, keep these foundational rules of weapon modding in mind:

1. Recoil vs. Dispersion (Bloom)
   • Recoil is the physical kick of the gun when firing. Vertical recoil is easy to manually control by pulling down on your mouse or thumbstick. Horizontal recoil is much harder to compensate for manually.
   • Dispersion is how wide your reticle blooms out during continuous fire. On rapid-fire and burst weapons, dispersion is usually a much bigger enemy than recoil.
